Mini Cooper
Since its appearance on the motoring scene in 2001, the Mini Cooper has captured the imagination of drivers with its iconic styling and dynamic performance. Now, with the fifth generation of this iconic British city car on the horizon, Mini offers a glimpse of what's to come.
A Return to the Origins
Mini has announced its intention to move to an all-electric range by 2030. For the time being, however, the brand is celebrating its heritage by offering the new generation of the Mini Cooper in a petrol version. This decision is in line with Mini's desire to continue to offer a variety of powertrains while preparing its transition to electric mobility.
The new Mini Cooper retains the brand's characteristic 3-cylinder engine, but benefits from a significant update. With an increase of 20bhp over the previous generation, the 1.5-litre engine now delivers 156bhp. This improvement translates into enhanced performance, with a 0-100 kph time reduced to 7.7 seconds and fuel consumption measured at 5.9 litres/100 km.
For thrill-seekers, the Cooper S version offers an even more dynamic driving experience. With a 4-cylinder turbo engine now producing 204 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, the Cooper S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds. Despite this extra power, fuel consumption remains reasonable at 6.1 litres/100 km.
Interior comfort and style
Inside, the Mini Cooper and Cooper S feature a new, streamlined dashboard with two-tone fabric, a new steering wheel and a 240 mm circular central screen. The rear bench, with its 60/40 split, offers additional versatility for carrying passengers or luggage. Four trim levels will be available to meet individual driver preferences: Essential, Classic, Favoured and JCW.
Availability and prices
The new Mini Cooper and Cooper S will be available in spring 2024, with prices starting from €29,500 and €33,500 respectively. These prices reflect Mini's ongoing commitment to offering quality cars that combine style, performance and comfort, while moving towards more sustainable mobility.
